Choisir le bon type

Canopy vs cabOpen ROPS canopy for visibility and cost; enclosed cab for weather, noise and all-season comfort.
Zero tail swingThe housing stays inside the tracks when slewing, the pick for walls, kerbs and tight urban sites.
Conventional tailThe overhanging counterweight buys more stability and lift than a zero-tail machine of the same weight.
Weight classAround 1 t fits through doorways, 3 to 5 t is the general-purpose sweet spot, 6 to 8 t nears full-size digging.

À vérifier avant l'achat

UndercarriageRubber tracks, sprockets and rollers are the big wear cost; a tired undercarriage should show in the price.
Hours vs ageMinis often log low hours; verify the meter matches wear on pins, bushes and pedals.
Coupler and bucketsA hydraulic quick coupler and a bucket set change the machine's day-one usefulness and its value.
Transport weightConfirm real operating weight against your trailer and licence limits before you commit.

Questions fréquentes

Which size class do I need?

Under 2 t for indoor and garden access, 3 to 5 t for general groundworks, 6 to 8 t when you need near full-size dig depth but still want easy transport.

Is zero tail swing worth it?

On confined sites, usually yes: you trade a little lift capacity for the freedom to slew anywhere. On open ground a conventional tail gives more machine per euro.

What counts as high hours?

Expect roughly 800 to 1,200 hours per year of normal use. Judge hours against age, service history and undercarriage condition rather than as a bare number.

Track or wheels?

Tracks grip and spread weight on soft ground and are the default on minis; wheeled models suit utility work that moves along hard surfaces between jobs.
