The Caterpillar 315D L is a small-class crawler excavator from Caterpillar's D-series line, positioned for general earthmoving, utility, and site-development work, with an operating weight of approx. 16.7 t and a Cat C4.2 ACERT engine rated at approx. 86 kW (117 hp). Caterpillar offered the 315D L with one boom and a choice of four stick lengths, including a 2.9 m (9'6") stick option for extra reach and lift capability, meeting U.S. EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage IIIA emissions standards.
