The Caterpillar 320 is a 20 tonne class crawler excavator and one of Cat's highest-volume medium excavator models, sold across four main generations: 320C, 320D, 320E and the current Next Generation 320. The Next Generation 320 runs a Cat C4.4 engine rated at 128.5 kW (172 hp) net power, with an operating weight of around 22,600 kg in its standard reach-boom configuration. It comes with Cat Grade with 2D, Grade with Assist and Cat Payload as standard, plus Cat Connect telematics for tracking hours, location and diagnostics. Earlier 320D-generation machines used a Cat C6.6 or C6.4 engine and a similar 20 to 22 tonne operating weight.
