The Komatsu PC70-8 is a 7-tonne class compact hydraulic excavator built for civil engineering and utility work in tight, confined sites. It runs a Komatsu SAA4D95LE-5 turbocharged engine rated at 50.7 kW (68 HP) gross and 48.5 kW (65 HP) net, meeting US EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage 3A emissions equivalence. Standard operating weight is 6,590 kg with a 0.30 to 0.37 m3 bucket range, a maximum digging depth of 4,100 mm and maximum digging reach of 6,360 mm. The undercarriage runs 450 mm shoes, and the cab is a roll-over protective (ROPS) structure to ISO 12117-2 with a closed-center load-sensing hydraulic system. Heavy-duty and blade specification variants are also offered, at higher operating weights.
